EcoWorldHotel “exports” its sustainable mentality to Greece.
CasaDoria, on the Island of Crete, is the first overseas green hotel of the EcoWorldHotel group… Greek tourism and the environment are grateful!
Milan. The first environmental friendly hotel group, EcoWorldHotel, which gathers over 120 eco-friendly Hotels and B&Bs, steps out of its national borders and welcomes a foreign facility for the first time. The new affiliate is a small Hotel in Greece, which promotes sustainable tourism and 'slow' food in the southern part of the beautiful Island of Crete.
It's called CasaDoria and today it begins its course towards our environmental certification. EcoWorldHotel chose this facility to open their sustainable tourism approach abroad and, at the same time, offer their contribution to a country facing a terrible crisis. This small hotel is located in the wild and less known southern part of Crete, while tourism is more developed in the north, this part of the Island counter-weighs with an enormous green potential of almost unexplored areas.
CasaDoria is the result of a personal down-shifting experience, a conscious choice of a simple life and regaing personal time, made by a tourism and international marketing manager couple. Five years ago Jacopo Doria and Valeria Fava, these their names, decided to build a shelter for special and demanding travellers on the sea. Italian management, Mediterranean flavors and an international environment are CasaDoria's main stength and starting from today it adds yet another important value: the belief in converting the tuorism sector into a more green and sutainable business through which the main economic revenue of the Hellenic country may undertake a more efficient, correct and natural way of life.
Since its establishment in 2008, CasaDoria has always tried to make vacations more sustainable, offering its guests a travel experience which would endure in time, essentially focusing on the human aspect. The location plays in favor of a positive outcome with a breathtaking view of the coast and a detalied easy-going managment.
EcoWorldHotel's certification arrives in CasaDoria as a natural result of choices made in the direction of energy saving and environmental respect and moreover promotion of the territory and local produce. Reduction of waste and consumption, re-use and recycling, the introduction of an organic and biodynamic menu and the use of eco-compatible and biodegradable products: these are the new elements that, thanks to EcoWorldHotel, will be implemented to the 2012 season.
“CasaDoria isn't an ordinary B&B, nor a hotel, niether a guesthouse or a room rental; CasaDoria is the place where we live facing the sea and we want to share it with whoever believes in our philosophy. […] This is our only certainty, our ambition, CasaDoria's only luxury... the luxury of having and enjoying time. If you're looking for parties, if you love being at the center of attention, if your vacation can't cope without sleepless nights in disco's then CasaDoria isn't the right place for you.”
In this faraway part of Greece, almost the last outpost before Africa, we want to promote the SlowLife concept because here, support the creators, slowing down is possible... starting from oneself. CasaDoria recieves its first recognition, the first “Eco-Leaf” on a scale from 1 to 5 with which EcoWorldHotel measures the positive environmental impact and celebrates a positive idea: the green rebirth of Greek tourism facilities.
